Dear Juan

28 January 2018

Dear Juan

The Day you died, a part of me did too

We found joy in the wind

It was our sweet calm

The feel of the breeze

as the wind wrapped around us like leaves

smiling heavy with such a radiant glow

This life was all that we know

But the storm came down heavy

The breeze was no longer comforting

The wind grew stronger

You could not hold on much longer

Like a striking blow

it took you away from all that we know

Crashing into the unknown waters

Helpless and alone

You sunk lower

Being carried on to a new world

A world unseen

A world without me

My reaction was too late

The more I cried couldn’t change the fact that you died

The water took you in

Pulling you down

Drown

Yelling your name

Gordo? Gordo! Gordo!

But I was too late

The current took you away

We were once one

The smooth summer breezes

We loved to enjoy

The calming wind against our face was such a sweet joy

But the storm came down heavy

And you were no longer bound

No longer with me broken off

Heavy

As the dark clouds surrounded you

Enclosed in the dark

No light to guide you away

So deeper you sunk as

The current took you away

But

I pray that I will see you again

Someday ...
