Dear Illness.

Dear Illness,

You are inhuman.

Quite a sadistic mistress,

Despair that’s alive.

I possess strength, though.

Years of watching you hurt him

Have made me grow up.

Illness you won’t win.

I have conquered your trials.

I will live with love.

You have taught me much.

Celebrate the victories,

And brace for the bad.

Don’t take for granted.

Every moment is precious.

Live without regrets.

He might disappear,

Future opportunities

Never to have once.

It’s three simple words.

I say, “I love you, Father.”

Before it’s too late.

Illness, you’re cruel.

Your wicked ways will not stop.

But neither will I.

Sincerely,

A Loving Daughter
