Dear Future Spouse

Location

Dear future spouse,
I don’t know what gender you are,
I don’t know your sexuality,
I don’t know what colour your eyes are,
Or how your hair feels in my hands.
I don’t know if your skin is smooth,
Or worn with calluses.
I don’t know if your hand sweats,
When I hold it at the movie theater.
I don’t know if Im the little spoon,
Or if you are.
I don’t know if I can make you blush,
With one look or a word.
I don’t know if we’ll adopt some pets,
Or if you even like pets.
I don’t know what books you like,
Or if you prefer movies.
I don’t know if Ill even end up with you,
Or pass you on the streets.
What I do know though,
Is that I will love you.
Unconditionally.
I will accept you in your all,
Even if we disagree on things.
If I end up with you,
I hope you’ll accept me,
In all my glory,
In all my flaws.
In the fact that I make messes,
That sometimes I don’t clean up.
That I’ll complain,
Whine,
But still do whatever it was.
That I like to watch scary movies,
Even though Im a wimp.
That I like physical contact,
But sometimes I don’t.
That I talk a lot,
But its okay when I don’t,
And its okay when we don’t.
And that sometimes Ill just stare,
And marvel in the beauty,
That someone as perfect as you,
Chose me to spend their life with.
