Dear Dad

Dear Dad

Sometimes I wonder are u alive

Or have you died?

Everything u have told me has been a lie

And I can't even survive.

On the hurt,

   Pain and blame

That's built up inside.

Why aren't you here?

I thought a father was supposed to be near.

But no.

Your not.

And I can't bear the burden that you placed

On my heart.

It's all ripped apart.

Dad, are you there?

Dad, do you hear?

Calling your name?

You don't respond.

That's causing even more pain.

Open your ears

I want you to comprehend the words

Sliding from my lips.

Your absence doesn't define me

I have crafted and molded myself

Into a strong woman

I scream

With or without you
