Dear Atalanta

Dear Atalanta,

Trust not the envious witches

or the conceited gods.

Dear Atalanta,

Listen not to the impatient kings

or the misogonist men.

Dear Atalanta,

Fear not the savage man-horses

or the untamed beast.

Dear Atalanta,

Trust only yourself

listen only to yourself

and fear only yourself.

For your fate writes itself in the stars

and you, my dear, have already won.
