A Days Truth

Location

Writing for me is more than scribing ink on papyrus
It’s freedom and duty for me to uphold what is righteous
I speak not for myself for I have nothing of value of which to say
He speaks through me of His calling every night, evening, and day
For it is hope that I feel when I express my thoughts
Giving it my best and all that I’ve got
In poetry is where my mind escapes the chains that bind the real me
What’s real may not be what you see, for something that is not there may come inevitably
I await and prepare for the day till He comes again
Till then I am to do what He says and try not to sin
I’m not perfect but I still strive to be
I’ve looked into the mirror and seen the real dark me
I’m a Dorian without the Grey
Replacing the name just to say
Whatever may be will be
But not today, not for me
I am tempted to open the deceiving door
But I know who stands behind me waiting for
He can crouch, kneel, stand, and try to steer his way in
But there he’ll go forever to his long awaited prison
Till that day comes I will give Him my all
I will wait patiently for His loving Call
This is to say that I love to write
For writing for me is doing what is right
