A Daughters Sorrow

Sixteen years went by

I'm waiting for you to come

I read to myself every night

I cried as nightfall came.

We're standing eye to eye

I'm not waiting for you

I have no reason to cry

You were there every night in my dreams.

You said you'd always be there

That I had nothing to worry about

I wasn't crying anymore

My life played joyful songs.

I grew attached to you

You grabbed my heart and left

I'm waiting for you to come

I cried as nightfall came.

My heart vanished into thin air

You were gone for good

All hope and trust was lost

My father causes my sorrow.
