Darkness, the Prism

I always used to see rainbows as a kid-
happy, happy, happy
But everything turned gray for a while.

I suppose that's why I appreciate the color now-
green, red, blue
Even black has a rainbow in it.

I see a lot of things that make me sad and cloud my view-
corruption, greed, anger
But then I see good and awesome things too.

Like people creating and people enjoying my creations-
comment, favorite, share
I think it's the best feeling in the world.

Or how there are so many people trying to change-
compassion, equality, respect
The belief that we'll do it is ingrained in me.

And you appreciate the quiet times-
calm, silence, peace
They're pretty awesome too.

When everything becomes a prism-
refraction, rainbow, light
The world can't be anything but beautiful.
