The Darkness Breaks

I see the air around me, swirling into mists of darkness and despair.

His horrors assail me, attacking everything so fair.

He comes for me...for my blood, my body, my soul.

He pushes, pulls, twists towards his goal.

I cannot, will not, let him win.

His eyes stare into my soul, searching for anything to use against me.

He tries, beating me until I'm broken, battered, and bleeding free.

His power is strong, tearing me from my thoughts.

My power is stronger, my blood clots.

I must fight. I must win.

I will not let him defeat me, for my hour of victory has come.

I see the light, pushing through like the sun.

My fear is gone, my life is back.

the demon flees, flying into the black.

I have won, the sun has come.
