Darkness

Location

The curtains are closed,

The stage remains black,

Behind that,

Lays a child, who’s afraid to crack,

Out his shell, that rings bells that sound great,

Love ones’ ears listen while their minds venture,

To his potential’s place,

Hoping one day,

He hears the beauty, in the tune he plays,

He’s a closed curtain,

Yet to embrace his purpose,

Fear is lethal to dreams never birthed,

Afraid of myself and the gift I kept silent,

Because fear is violent,

It beats the ones not fighting,

Yet to fight equipped with my potential,

Fear beat me in the mental,

So my gift I shy from,

Scared to reveal myself to the world,

Fear of mass acceptance creates discomfort,

Not many….used to love me to this extent,

Scared to be me,

Because the world is encouraging my imprint,

I’m not used to walking in the sand,

And leaving a footprint,

I question if it’s worth it,

So gifted, but afraid to show it,

Because when the curtains rise,

My life will change drastically,

Before my eyes,

When will I,

Take the stage?
