Dare you

He would never back down from a challenge

that kid that lived within his own boxes

a story told a thousand times

he lives in between the pages

heart filled with dreams

head filled with nightmares

afraid of something

he prayed to his god

to take the darkness from his soul

for he loved a girl

that would never love him

forever and ever truly

Confusion rampant

he liked picking up the pieces

he liked the holding

catching the teardrops

made him feel whole

in love with a fairytale

a glorious angel

the miserable disconnect

he felt wriggled its ways into

his words

he would take any dare

he would never back down

no matter the pain

no matter the shame

he liked to overcome

made him feel better

lullabies for an unsettled conscious

but when the pained one said

"you don't love me.

you never will.

you are angry

I can feel the

fustration hovering

inside you.

making you yell at me

for no reason

because my breathe

annoys you

my life

annoys you

my unconditionalness

annoys you

you can't pin me down

so you shove away

anything but

emptiness

because  you

you are comfortable there.

so I dare you,

I triple-dog-dare you

to go find yourself

the real you

so you can find me,

catch me if you can."

and the boy stared at her

as she punched his arm

shrieked

"your it!"

and ran away

and out of his life.
