Dare I Say

Sat, 02/03/2018 - 16:13 -- ntuma

To the one that never was and never could be: Muhammad, Alhaji, quickfeet,

While the spirits of the dead

Roam the heavens

The fairytale we seek

Shatters to the extreme

While my suicide kisses

Will soon approach me

Dare I say

I’m in love with you

While the sun swallows

The earth in whole

The world braces itself

For its exile to hell

While I lay in agony

On my death bed

Dare I say

I’m in love with you

Though my love for you remains unrequited

And my lips still await

A never coming, "I love you"

Whispered in a kiss

I will use my last breath

And shout out into the void

With the utmost perfection

I am in love with you

While I will soon embark

On my inexorable end

Will soon be thrown

Into this inevitable oblivion

And will leave this earth

Knowing you’ll never love me

Dare I say

I’m in love with you

Sincerely,

The girl who futilely stared from afar
