Dandelion In the Snow

She's a weed among many

the only difference

is her timing

while others are blooming

in the sun filled days

she seems to be a yearning seed

left behind with the clouds.

As the Earth

moves on its axis

her colors are revealed.

Shinning her prettiest

when fall is whitened by the snow.

Filling hearts

and giving hope,

somehow she continues to grow

only so

those around her

do not fall

into the vacancy of winter

only so

they will stay warm

until it is time

for the other dandelions to rise.
