Dancing Through Life

Location

Ever since I was a child,

I've been dancing day and night

Regardless of injury, no matter the circumstance,

Dancing has been my flight.

Now, I am older

And I see everything in a different way than before

What I aspire to be in this moment

Is opposite of what seems now as a chore.

I did want to be a meteorologist,

You know, show and tell the weather like the early bird I am

Then I wanted to be a Radio City Rockette,

But I wasn't tall enough, so I threw that dream in the can.

Right here, right now,

Here in the present day,

I want to become a dance teacher,

And I don't care about the pay.

Choreographing is what I love to do,

It's what everyone praises me about

I can see myself touring with a convention,

To teach dance to those who want to get out of the house.

With becoming a dance teacher,

You have to have the talent, mind, and heart

I know that I would have all three and more

If I ever had the chance to play my part.

Being a teacher is a courageous ordeal,

A dance teacher at that

You have to teach technique and routines

That will never be perfect with the first clap.

Dance teachers travel all around the world,

And if I become one, so will I

I would have the privilege to meet so many new faces

And teach those who want to step in time.

I want to become a dance teacher,

That is what I aspire to do

As one, I can change the world,

And show that dreams most definitely come true.
