Dancing On The Rocks

Location

Walking on the rocks

My feet close to

The giant structures

I felt a bond- a beauty.

Trekking through the rocks

Watching life in stillness

And little creatures creep & crawl

Through the patches of green.

To the precariously placed rocks

And the random green,

A turquoise lake

Added elegance.

The waves created

By the refreshing wind

Washed my feet

As fishes tickled them.

I watched the blue sky

Through the green leaves

Of the hilly flora.

What splendor!

A baby cobra

Slithered past

And a racing gecko

Ran hither.

A waiting maiden,

A happy puppy,

A four chambered heart

Were some rock structures.

Who made them so?

How do they

So precariously stand?

How are they so beautiful?

As the sun began to set,

The sky began to color

And the clouds began descending,

I climbed to its peak.

I watched the

Green and grey

Surrounding me.

How beautiful!

On the highest rock

I sat silently

Listening to the wind

Blowin’ past me.

I closed my eyes

And listened

To the music

Of the wind.

I watched the sun

Set on the green horizon,

Like an orange

Slowly being eaten.

As the colors

Danced in the sky,

I danced on

The salient rocks.

A few icy drops

Landed on my face,

The first of

Millions more to come.

My bare feet

On the rough rocks

And I danced till

The rocks were smooth.

The wind was

My music

And the hilltop

My venue.

My heart danced

And jumped with joy

And I danced a dance of ecstasy.

It was blissful,

Dancing in the rain

On top of a hill

In the rays of the setting sun.

The wind grew stronger

By the minute

And the beauty grew along.

My heart was flying

With the robust wind;

It was taken

To paradise.

My bliss cannot

Be put in words,

Or strokes or steps

Or symphonies.

It was one

That knew

No bounds.

My bliss was wild.

I danced and sang

To my heart’s content,

But ho! My joy

Knew no bounds!

I could dance forever!

I was dancing in the rain

On top of a hill

By a turquoise lake.

Where’s greater bliss?

I ran my hands

Through the fields

Of  tiny white flowers

That bedecked the crevices of the rocks.

The last rays of the sun

Shining amidst the clouds

Sat like a crown

On the highest rock.

I watched

The grey rocks

Turn black while

Soaking the raindrops.

I danced

In the first rain

Of the monsoon

On the deccan rocks.

I felt like

I was acting

In a film.

It was so surreal!

I had spent

A Sunday evening

Dancing in

A rocky paradise.
