I’ll dance to the music,
That sings inconsolably sweet
I’ll sway and step
And try.

I’ll dance to the music
Because I have no words
Only the need to dance these
Steps

I’ll dance to the music
Because if I don’t
The tears will
Fall.

I’ll dance to the music,
Because, I’ll bet, her eyes are brown
Completely different from
My own.

I’ll dance to the music
To hide this feeling in my chest
To pretend, just pretend
Things didn’t go this way.

I’ll dance to the music
With my heart pounding fast
Just trying to move on:
Don’t forget.

I’ll dance to the music
Because she won’t
And I need this.
I need this.

I’ll dance to the music
Until my heart, and all the feelings within,
Have stained the ground
Red.

I’ll dance to the music
Until my feet bleed
Just to remind myself to
Breathe
