Damn Mask

The smile I've shown is false;

Empty, hollow, etched, carved;

Habit demands it's presence.

Apparently a smile,

It's simply an attempt

To magnify any pleasure that comes.

For this reason I wear the mask:

Others may be hurting,

So for them I must be an example of rebellion,

A rebel in the fight against the darkness.
