Dad

You say you love me, but

you really don't care.

Everything that you do

is to counter mother.

You won't help with college

'cause it'll help her.

You say you love me, but

I try to explain.

You argue with me

but never consider

how you make me feel.

You say you love me, but

you never notify

me about "our" plans.

We go hunting and you poach.

When you don't have a deer,

you send me home

with a man I barely know.

You say you love me, but

I feel lower than the dirt.

I cry, but you don't see.

Physically,

there's no abuse.

Emotionally,

it is never ending.

You say you love me, but

your logic doesn't make sense.

Mom is bipolar?

The actual truth is that

you are, but you can't see.

Really, you don't want to.

You say you love me

I answer like a robot

just to make you happy

but I'm dying inside.

You ignore me

and turn around

saying that I don't

tell you about me.

You say you love me, but

when I'm eighteen,

going off to college

You'll never see me again

Mom tried to warn you, but

You will never care
