Dad

Thu, 05/30/2019 - 13:50 -- TDH722

Little, Playful, Full of Joy; that's who I was as a little boy.

Stress free, shy, but so full of glee.  Until Heaven took him away from me.

I miss you, Dad.

Worrying, crying, bullied for so long.

Untill I built some walls arond my heart, and high school came along.

I miss you, Dad.

Then like a whirlwind, twisting and turning, Gosh that was tough!

I've finally Graduated, and now I'm going to be a CU Buff!

I miss you, Dad.

t's  time for happiness, it's time for pride.

But you don't see me getting any free rides.

I know if you were here you'd have made sure I'd make it.

I never had to force my happy. There was no "fake it".

But now I'm on my own, writing poetry for financial help.

I'll finish college on my own, this is the hand I've been dealt.

I miss you, Dad.

Doesn't matter, they never choose me. 99 Scholarships, but not one given to me.

Just shine one, light my way. I know you'll guide me to another Graduation Day.

I miss you, Dad
