To Cut Out a Tongue
Location
Words have a power only few comprehend,
To bring down or raise up great women and men.
They have caused civilizations to rise and to fall;
Yes, words are the most powerful thing after all.
I remember a girl, her name was Rose,
She had plenty of money, could afford nice clothes.
She was top of the class, could have had lots of friends,
But everyone judged her and her fashion trends.
They spat venom at her, words filled with spite,
but she shrugged them all off, ‘til she was raped one night.
The venom hit harder, she was poisoned to her soul
As her “slut” and “whore” status slowly took control.
To cut out a tongue would keep everyone silent,
‘Cause sure as I write this...Rose hanged herself last night
