The Curtain Falls

Location

To be honest,

Society,

It's the worst,

And it's the best.

We're all judged,

Sometimes so harshly,

Sometimes so gently,

It's like a civil war,

And it's caught me,

Oh has it caught me,

In its snarling,

Ripping,

Teeth.

It tells me to conform,

Yet it tells me to stand out,

Truthfully,

I can't choose what's right.

Being myself,

I'm judged so harshly,

Yet conforming,

May just rip me apart,

All throughout the inside,

Simply because;

I'm different.

So I put up curtains,

And I put up walls,

To block out society,

But also to block out myself,

Just to get by.

But,

Maybe,

Just maybe it's time,

 To tear down these curtains,

These walls,

And show the world all,

All that I can be,

Just by being myself.
