The Curtain

Tue, 08/12/2014 - 11:32 -- JCW

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

He’s the cowardly one,

The loveless man.

He’s the one who hides his faults,

Putting up a façade the best that he can.

No, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Pay attention to the man in front of the curtain.

He’s the brave one,

The man who revels in the human heart.

He’s the one who has nothing to hide,

Squashing all fears before they can start.

Yes, pay attention to the man in front of the curtain.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

He’s the distrusting one,

Always ever-stressed.

He’s the one who always fights,

But never for what he thinks is best.

No, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Pay attention to the man in front of the curtain.

He’s the caring one,

Yet always so carefree,

He’s the one who accepts everything,

And optimistic, he will always be.

Yes, pay attention to the man in front of the curtain.

Who is the man behind the curtain?

Who is the man in front of the curtain?

Why, the answer is quite simple:

They’re both the same man in the mirror.
