A curious escape

I live an escapist’s life.

I long for something

anything

to make my life

greater

better

happier

than I am now.

I no longer hope for death

but rather

I hope for love.

And isn’t it odd

how love’s absence

made me seek an end?

Love is something

anything

that makes my life

greater

better

happier

than I ever was.

In love, I find

a curious escape

from life’s troubles.

My escape

is miles away,

and I hope he calls me his escape too.
