Curiosity Of War

I wonder how you felt when you went to war, when you had the gun in your hand, when your friend hit the floor. Did you cry out loud, or did you run? When the telegram was sent, did you think whose son? Lord, Lord I would hate for that to be me. for all the men that died for me to be free. If they were here, I would thank them for what they did, giving their lives now to some fatherless kids. Where can you go? where can you hide? Your mates are getting shot and five minutes ago, they died. POW! BOOM! BANG! BOMBS AND GUNS. Watch yourself; you just shot one in the lungs. As if you were a fish without water with no where to go, just pray you'll make it out, and from this experience you'll grow. Lord, Lord I would hate for that to be me. For aall the men that died for me to be free. If they were here I would than them for what they did, giving their lives now to some fatherless kids.  You have two days and then this battle is done; you will be free to go home to your wife and son. You've killed over thirty men, fought the battle you thought was yours. BANG! One in the chest now your life is no more. The angels sought you and called you home, may the Lord be with them when your family is all alone. Heaven or hell, he's proud of you still. When he finds out how this affected him, his wounds of a dead father will heal. Lord, Lord I would hate for that to be me. For all the men that died for me to be free. If they were here I would thank them for what they did, giving their lives now to some fatherless kids.
