A Culture of Solitude

Waging war on a futile society
Where we still discover
The same things repetitively
Reducing our knowledge to none
As we take on a lifestyle based upon
A culture of solitude
Where all one needs is oneself
And all one hears is his own music
Man dances to his own tune
Trusting none but the faithful blue sky
Caring not what lies beyond the reach of the eye
Fearing not what’s yet to be discovered
Ignorance is bliss, but surely not this
For what happens when the sky turns grey
Does one drop the toys and emerge
Or simply wait
For a time when we still discover
Something new everyday
Then let man out into the world to play
The war is over, can solitude enjoy this day?
