Crystalline Statue

Crystal skin

Ruby blood

Diamond tears

Emerald eyes

Sapphire lips

Gold hair

Silver sundress

How pretty they look

Surrounded by sun

Glittering and shining

Sparkly and bright

Not an imperfection

Upon their pedestal

Perfectly crafted

Beautifully carved

But silent and unspoken

Speak

Just one word

Tell me all you know

But their lips weren’t made to talk

Their legs, not made to walk

Oh, how cruel you are

To rob me of my desires

Perfect in appearance

But I know not of anything else

I wonder

What my friend would think

How they would speak

How they would write

Aphrodite, please

Make them alive

So they may speak

And walk

And so I might love them for who they are
