Crime & Punishment

Location

Blood on the pavement
It's time for a bereavement
The shrill cries of sirens
Still cannot drown out the wails of parents
Loved ones grieving
Still unbelieving
That....
Those shots found a home
That...
The chokehold was too strong
Bodies in the streets
Sending our love ones to a premature sleep...
What was their crime?
They were in the "wrong" skin
However there is NOTHING
Wrong with the color of our skin
We are all the same within
I bleed red the same as you
Just seems like our blood paints the streets more than you
News reports back to back
Come ON, give my people some slack
I want a world where it does not matter that your black....
Brown, tan, white or any color on the Spectrum
Label me human
And in that sense
You can't refute me
You can't rebuke me
You can't shun me
You can't own me
Let me be what God intended
I am human, can't be contended....
