i grew up in the dark side

in a place there was no light in sight

staying alive would've been remarkable

bounced from our old block

move to uptown

a young youth rocking a fat goose

with no Bible

hanging out with goons

and more goons

who were stealing for fun

it became more than that

it was my dream

where i was a part of what i thought was a team

started drinking at the age of 15

been with a dude who have a piece on him

no questions i was caught for reckless endangerment

combination of me being in handcuffs, and locked up behind bars

made my eyes gush

while i was in prison

i ask God for forgiveness

didn't had a bible in my hand

my life started to get better

all this time i left Him

like Deuteronomy 31:8-The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you

He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged

He helped figured out that i was going the wrong route

no longer did i hang the wrong crowd

where they continue to kill for fun

yo brothers respect mine

now i'm all about The Lord

it's been 24 years since i got away

and even today, going through the spiritual warfare

surviving got me bugging

but i'm alive

thanks be To God

where He kept me away from the streets

that i didn't fall deep

Jesus didn't want my hands to touch the depth of the devastation

where my name was awaiting to be engrave at a burial sight of uncertainty

after being in jail at the age of 16

trying to fit in rather than stand out

all i became was a number with 30 other faces

railroaded to mass incarceration

life as a shorty should've been that rough

as i understand the world i live in is hell

it's alot better than being in the cell

even more superior than that is the words of Jesus in 2 Corinthians 3:17

where He said

Now The Lord is the Spirit, and where The Spirit of The Lord is, there is freedom

He help me maintain

overcome the heartaches and pain

still have stick up kids who are lost sheeps misguided by ravenous wolves

disguise at sheeps

a poor person is one not who don't have money in their pocket

but one who don't have Jesus in his heart

i'm no living proof

but i am a testiment To God in kick the truth to the young people

some won't listen and want to wild out

smoking cest 

drinking beer

don't want to hear what i'm kicking in his ear

you choose not to receive it

i'll brush that dust off my feet and keep moving

what is accepted

that your life is hectic
