The Crack of Dawn

I've always wondered why dawn cracks.
Dusk doesn't, but somehow daylight
is like lightning.
Somehow the sun breaks things
when it rises.

But maybe, maybe that makes
some kind of sense,
the rise of our daylight star.
Morningstar.

"Let there be light."

They say God said that.
And I wonder if He regretted it.

After all, without light --
Well, there couldn't be sin.

No Gadrael in the garden,
No Moloch in whom were dreamt angels
No Lucifer, no Morning Star.

"Let there be light."
And let it doom us.
