City girl

With a country heart

Walks outside

To her back yard,

                  Looks up

And sees jet streaks

Left in the sky

At night.

Too fast.

Looking up

She’s finally collapsed

To look beyond the

Dozen streaks

To see the

Thousand twinkling lights.

Stars

Burning bright.

And slow.

For just this moment,

She remember to
