Cough If You Can Hear Me

Location

Reverence-

demonstrated through my parent's beliefs

and their ropes on my limbs--

that you would dive in foreign ocean's

despite the ropes on your mind

Gravity-

the only thing that kept me firmly on Earth

and tied me to the living, the famous, and the deceased-

But there was no gravity in my mind

I have a cold-

And in the winter months

I am woken by the sound

of Earth's screams

loud, pounding in my head through my ears

I try to find refuge in people

but their ignorance clogs my throat

and stretches down my lungs,

and bursts in the pit of my stomach

I scream and shout

but all that's heard-

is a cough
