Flowing and growing

Yet also

Stable and slow.

Aware and seemingly

Naive due to

Demeanor so

Tranquil.

It’s a choice

It feels like a fat little lie to say

That.

Yet do our surroundings govern us?

Do the people around us pull us around on little strings

Like a puppet or

do we let them–because it's easy?

Are we slaves to our emotions–

Is there a punishment for disobeying them?

When you run

They hunt you down

And hit you harder than before

Submerging you in your feelings.

Drawing blood.

Don’t run.

You are stronger than this.

I promise.

And

You can’t run from it.

You cannot let your emotions be your master.

You must face them.

For then you will find freedom,

You will find contentment.
