Days
Flash
by.
Each busier than the last.
And nervousness
snakes
in.

Anticipation grows.
Excitement lies in wait,
strikes out –
swallowing
everything
whole.

Reason lessens, doubt
settles in.
Another day passes
a week –
a month –
a thought –

Word comes.
And all worry,
all doubt
is left behind.
And without fail
the next problem
snakes
in.

I think it's so cool how you made each line a different length because it really shows the abrupt starts and stops that go on in a day. This writing style reminded me a lot of Emily Dickinson's poems, too!
