Conscience ...

Conscience

1st Cor. 6:17 “but who is joined to The Lord

is one spirit with Him”

To be one spirit with The Lord … what does it really mean?

Is it an interwoven conscience with nothing in between?

Who is my conscience? So independent and direct,

not influenced by opinions or by the world’s incest.

He has a voice so quiet and separates right from wrong.

He does not compromise and knows where he belongs.

He simply states his judgment and reminds me every day

About the “who” I ought to be and the “me” that breaks away.

Conscience are you really mine or independent from me?

When I say it’s alright … you just nag and correct me.

If I ignore you I can’t sleep and if I scheme and plot,

You bother me all the time until I do it not

But when I walk in righteousness and that is not oft it seems.

That is the only time you rest … why do you stay with me?

Are you also a tender gift from our Lord and Savior?

A gift, when long ignored, grows hard and stale in flavor.

Does the conscience follow suit as the believer’s spirit grows?

The Holy Spirit speaks direct to it or oft wants you to know

The Spirit will refrain at times but not take over conscience

He will yield to the will of man and that not in every instance
