An emotion so strong it hurts,

Pain worse than any broken bone.

In love, the pounding heart is tangible, true,

In guilt, the writhing conscience is tangible, real,

In confusion...nothing is tangible, or for sure.

Everything is up in the air--whirling.

I want it all to come crashing down,

but I'm not in control.

It's a feeling strong enough to tear the heart,

                                                         But not solid enough,

                      to rip it apart.

It's the feeling of baning around a dark room,

Not able to stop,

even though it just becomes bruise after bruise.

My head is so clouded, I can't think straight,

(It's okay, it'll pass...)

All I can say is, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

Confusion--the source of hopelessness,

Of weary souls that lie awake at night,

Of failure of the even the most auspicious and determined.

Yet, confusion.

                                                                                            Just a hard journey,

to find the undeniable answer--truth.
