Conformity

Crouched in his cavern of coal
The miner does time on his shift
Black permeates body & soul
As he digs out the energy drift

He can't lift his head to stand up
The pay seam is less than a man
His body conforms to the rock
Solid boundaries limit his stand

So the judge with the law binding down
And the priest with a precept to hold
So the doctor with medicine bound
And the bureaucrat cast in his mold

Have in common with men in the mine
No way to stand up to full height
Rock hard limits society finds...
Ways to bend men...
and keep them from light
