Colors

Blue

Reminds me of many things

A sky that swirls before my eyes like a kaleidoscope

Water that ripples around me as I place my feet in the cold lake

Red

Like roses that talk and sing

Blood that oozes from my skin

Red hits the sky, and explodes like a thousand suns

Mushrooms that talk and call to me

Growing throughout Wonderland

Yellow

The brightest golds

The star of the universe

Sunflowers and sunshine

Gold paints the sky in a gorgeous sunset, that waves up above

Pink

Swirling daisies

Ball gowns, their skirts floating all around me

Filling my vision with pink fabric and ribbons

I can’t see past all these colors that surround me

Orange

Kisses my skin

Taking me to a time when

I was staring at the ocean

The sun was rising

Orange, gold, and red kissing and touching one another

Like a painting

Burned into my mind

I’ll never forget all these colors before me

Green

Meadows and trees

The breeze blows, the grass whispers about me

“See that girl? She sits here alone”

“Escaping from her family”

I’ll never forget the feel of how soft the grass is under my feet

Violet

I see violet all around me

Springing from the ground like a weed

But so beautiful and delicate

Violet fills my dreams

I swear they’re whispering

What are they saying?

“She’s alone”

“She has no one”

“Where are her parents?”

“She’s hiding”

“They don’t love her”

Suddenly everything is spinning

Their whispers fill my ears

The colors are spinning around me

Filling my vision

Red, yellow, blue, gold, pink, orange, green, and violet

There are so many more

Teal, evergreen, crimson, purple

I hold my head in my hands

They’re talking to me.

I can’t understand what they’re saying

I’m floating suddenly

I look up above me, the colors are swirling beautifully

Blending perfectly

Suddenly I hear their whispers

Not loud enough for everyone else

But just enough that I can hear them

“She’s hiding, but she’s strong. Stronger than you or me.

She needs us, we are her hideaway”

I can’t escape these colors that are surrounding me
