College Is Hard

Mon, 04/04/2016 - 21:09 -- reesedi

What is the one thing I can’t live without?

This I can tell you, I‘ll tell you no doubt.

This doesn’t weigh much, of this I am sure.

It’s very useful, and this thing can cure

all kinds of ailments like sickness of homes,

and even the down in the dumps syndromes.

This I bring with me wherever I go,

It’s something I’ll never ever outgrow.

This thing makes me laugh, this thing makes me cry,

this thing makes me sad when I say goodbye

to family who I won’t see for a while.

“It’s off to college!” I say with a smile.

This smile doesn’t last the whole of the year,

for those pesky ailments disrupt my cheer.

But with this thing I know I can survive

‘cause with this thing I always know that I’ve

got people back home who love me the most.

The thoughts of my family on the other coast

is the one thing I cherish, I’ll cherish the most.
