A Cold so Cold...

A cold
so cold that it's dangerous,
loathsome
a cold that permeates
bone-
is a harbinger of illness,
of death
even.
- A freezing,
shivering
teeth-chatterring
mind-numbing
cold
and then
a crackling fire
tea brewing atop
a pot- bellied stove
heat emanating
forth-
enveloped in blankets
warm
blissful
all so simple
really-
though surely
salvation.
