Cold Coffee and Green Tea

I wrote for the voices who were too busy to even scream

Drinking cold coffee and green tea,

anything to keep myself awake

through the night

is all I can give you

every night for the past nine months

I had stayed awake for you

wide awake as you lay there, motionless,

for the past nine months

feeling hallow,

filled to the brim with cold coffee and green tea

as each date passes,

you seem duller in those white sheets, my darling

I listen to your breathing,

each one seems like the last

not knowing if you will be gone tonight or midnight tomorrow

I'm drinking cold coffee and green tea to stay awake,

to be by your side

for your last waking moments

for the last time you breath

till your fragile heart stop beating

and your lungs to stop breathing

I'll stay by your side

armed with caffeine and chained to your bedside

Drinking cold coffee and green tea
