The breeze blows like never before
sweeping away our words and our anger
a cool wind rising below the heat of our words
and carrying them into the sky
before they can even leave our lips

The frigid air has robbed us of opinion
drying and freezing the fury in our hearts
words turning to ice in the air
in fear and in respect
but no longer in love

i used to wonder where it came from,
but now i can see it
i watch the cold rise from you
radiating off you and leaving a hard
slick layer of frost over us both

i wonder if i'll ever be able to warm you
i wonder if i want to
i wonder why
