Cluttered Minds And Bruised Hearts

Sometimes

When you look up at the night sky, there's difference.

Up there among the stars are dreams galloping,

Hopes crashing,

And the tumultuous roar of love gone wrong.

The stars make dizzy little circles in your mind,

And your dreams, hope, love, fall through the spaces between your fingers like water.

Sometimes

When you look out at the ocean, there's difference.

Out there with the sparkling waves are prayers unanswered,

Cries ignored,

And the tumultuous roar of love gone wrong.

The ocean creates chaos in your mind,

And your prayers, cries, love fall through the spaces between your fingers like sand.

But sometimes

You catch yourself running through a forest,

trying to escape,

From cluttered minds and bruised hearts,

trying to find order in the ocean,

calm in the darkness.

One day

When you look up at the night sky, there will be calm.

Up there among the stars are dreams reached,

Hopes dancing,

And the enchanting song of love again found.

The stars making pretty pictures in your mind,

And your dreams, hope, love getting caught

In the tangles of your hair,

Mixed with the tears on your face,

The laughter your voice makes,

Rubbed into your skin,

And matching the sound of your heart.

One day

you will be found.
