Cloud Named Darkness

Fear becomes the barrier that keeps me in

No smoke to see,

and no life of sin

My life is as hard as can be,

but my fear keeps me in

When the light of day is gone,

and the cloud named Darkness rolls in,

I sit in silence under a back sun

to listen to the music within

What kills you, is that you can't see,

that you're fighting this battle all alone,

with no direction of where to be,

and your memory's gone

When the sun comes up,

you'll be a better person

when your stress fills a cup,

from the bottle that worsens

only you can't see,

that you're fighting this war by yourself

the music that can be,

is your only way out

Death becomes the fear that keeps you out

everything is gone,

as a flower you sprout,

on the mountain you sit upon

When the light of day is gone,

and the cloud named Darkness rolls in,

I sit in silence under a back sun

and watch you within

You can do whatever,

but you can't do what you want

your life is forever,

and nothing but a haunt

Nothing is held against you,

for no one told you what was wrong

only you can see right through you,

And the time you picked up a pen,

you fell headstrong

When the light of day is gone,

and the cloud named Darkness rolls in,

I sit in silence under a back sun

and listen to you within

Although I cannot say,

that you've won this battle alone,

but one day, I pray

You'll step off your thrown,

and live to be something better,

then to be the person unknown

When the light of day is gone,

and the cloud named Darkness rolls in,

I sit in silence under a back sun

and listen to you within

Right now you're a ghost,

wishing you would have made better decisions

This substance was your host

and those pills are your bridges,

that are now burning down,

because no one was there to save you

Still those who you have left

grieved in your pain of suffering

before you even left,

when your soul was alone and blustering

When the light of day is gone,

and the cloud named Darkness rolls in,

I sit in silence under a back sun

and listen to you within

That darkness is you,

floating above my head

Through the wind, you blew,

Fighting away your fears, instead

When the light of day is gone,

and the cloud named Darkness rolls in,

I sit in silence under a back sun

and listen to you within

When the light of day is gone,

and the cloud named Darkness rolls in,

I sit in silence under a back sun

and listen to you within

You treated yourself to a new beginning

Harvested the flowers that grew me,

And in this hole I keep digging

before I couldn't see

This hole is closing in on me

And I'm afraid I've lost this battle

With myself & the people around me

When the light of day is gone,

and the cloud named Darkness rolls in,

you sit in silence,

and listen to me within

I've made choices before,

some for the better,

and some for the worst

without you of course

When the light of day is gone,

and the cloud names Darkness rolls in,

all there is is silence,

and no music to be heard within

So don't come to me,

I'm not there

I can't be there,

you were never there for me

When the light of day is gone,

and the cloud names Darkness rolls in,

all there is is silence,

and no music to be heard within
