Closet Doors (Scholarship Slam)

Location

I knew a girl who felt trapped in this world

she was unaccepted  for being gay

they kept putting her down for who she was

the closed-minded saw no other way

she asked why the world was so cruel

she asked why was she chosen to be a fool

and she yelled at the sky:

"If there is a god, why am I in pain?

if there is a god, then prove me wrong

give me a reason to believe

because of lost all my faith

I think I'm better off dead

than dealing with the cruelty of humanity!"

Her family never accepted her

all accept her loving mother

the rest would say,

"Oh dear, that isn't right, so I'll pray for you"

but she didn't want to be in their prayers

she just wanted to be loved and accepted

she spent more nights in her room

only one day to meet her doom

she greeted death as an old friend

she strung a noose, kicked her chair

and as mom barged in

she caught her daughter in the air

the girl screamed at her mom

"If there is a god, why am I in pain?

If there is a god, then prove me wrong

give me a reason to believe

because I've lost all my faith

I think I'm better off dead

than dealing with the cruelty of humanity!"

This is a story of a girl

a story of a normal human being

who got beaten by the cruelty

the cruelty of disgusting humanity

Oh, will it ever end?

she screamed, "will it ever end?

I'm tired of being victim here!

we need to make this end!"

Will it ever end?

can we make it end?

it's time to put the peace back in

so we can make it end.
