Cleansing

Change can be bad but occasionally it is good

Knowing the difference between the two is like knowing the difference between wouldn’t or would.

Wouldn’t you help make someone smile to brighten their day, to heal them from their insecurities and rid them of pain.

Would you travel to different countries and do what you can,

Teach eager minds, medicate those who are ill, feed the hungry, grow better food, improve housing and have people not regret living on their land.

Change is everywhere,

It’s happening every day,

Whether it’s the increase of the birthrate of an extinct species,

Or the shift in the seasons

Changing from the spring filled days of rain to a warm summer breeze

Now my change isn’t so subtle as the seasons changing,

But it deals with the waste in the streets and the garbage in the puddles,

I live in New York but this is worldwide,

One of the many thing that linger in my mind and sometimes keep me from going outside,

Filth flying in the air,

Dust entering my nose,

Along with the smell of trash spread for blocks ahead,

Leaving a taste in your mouth,

All you are left to do is wonder when will it end.

Garbage cans which are meant to contain the mess of the humans are tipped over,

Transportation emit clouds of blackness hurting everyone and everything around it,

Self-destruction, it seems is what humans are good at,

But for those like me who observe everything,

We promote self-improvement

Awareness of ones surroundings is necessary,

Without this awareness, improvement isn’t foreseeable.

Clean the mind, clean the streets, clean our environment and we’ll clean the world.
