The City

The city pulses with life

crowds fighting their way down sidewalks

throngs of cars inching their way down streets.

Lights glow above everyone's heads

and the tops of buildings reach for the sky.

The city pulses with life

strangers passing each other daily

without so much as a nod,

passangers on trains and buses

passing by familiar houses, never even bothering to wonder of the life if its inhabitants.

The city -

it pulses with life and teems with strangers who never bother to look twice.
