I saw this man alone in the brisk cold;

He wore an eskimo hat to keep warm.

A passing girl praised the hat, and behold-

The man offered it to her, against norm.

The rest of the evening, this made me think,

That perhaps the man and I are equal.

He volunteered his heat without a blink,

As I do with my heart for retrieval.

Yet, unlike the man, it is only you,

Whose dear voice I want to whisper, “of course.”

The grief is rife and I wish that I knew,

How to find a future with no remorse.

But, like the man, we are both rejected,

For no chance was birthed to be accepted.
