Citizens of Debt

Citizens of the East, citizens of the west,

Citizens of all the United States,

Listen to my wise words,

Recurring from great political debates.

The day is nearly upon us,

When our economy will crash,

And the things we took for granted,

Back at us they will soon lash.

Business will vanish from our towns,

And the money from our wallets,

There will be no more electricity,

At the ready in your power outlets.

Misery more than one can ponder,

Hunger and poverty, depression and panic,

Devastation, distress, and reckless survival,

Will all be our newfound tonic.

Long shall be a poor economy,

Jobless will its setting be,

Bitter yet will rest its citizens,

With their heads below their knees.

For this time we all must strive,

Even though we want to spend;

Workers, congressmen, politicians and legislators,

There is an economy we must mend.

Citizens of the East, Citizens of the West,

Citizens of all the United States,

Listen to my wise words,

Recurring from great political debates.
