Circling Rivers

There's a river I know,

in the land of the dead,

where many call home,

and others may dread.

There's a city I know,

where the parties are gold,

where the liquor is silver,

where the drugs are sold.

There's a woman they know,

who comes when they call,

who dreams to live,

who talks when you sleep,

who lives in that city of gold.

There's a river I know,

where the kids have fun,

where the days are spent,

getting drunk and wet.

There's someone out there,

in the big, bad world,

who smiles like God,

who I am yet to meet.
