Cinderella Never Loses a Shoe
Everyone knows the classic story of
Cinderella, but what if there’s a twist.
After the ball she is not deep in love.
The prince does not chase her into the mist.
Instead, she asks Godmother for one last wish
To have the courage to stand up to her
Stepmother. The Fairy nods with a swish,
And Cindy makes her Mother’s conscience stir.
With shame in her heart, her muscle gave up,
And Cindy was given all the estate.
Her sisters earn their keep by cleaning up.
For a Prince, Cindy will never await.
Though this may be a much more modern tale,
Women with courage will always prevail.
